During the meeting, PepsiCo presented its new global vision “Positive Agriculture,” which aims to improve the livelihoods of more than 250,000 people in its agricultural supply chain and obtain 100 percent of its key ingredients sustainably.
In Mexico, this vision will be implemented in the “Agrovita” program, a three-year project (2021-2024) aimed at implementing regenerative agriculture practices in 12 thousand hectares in the states of Tabasco and Chiapas. The program, which considers a seed investment of 20 million pesos, plans to Anhui Mobile Number List benefit 920 small and medium-sized banana, cocoa and oil palm producers, as well as 37,600 people—50 percent of them women—, with actions to improve the food security of their communities. The collaboration of the National Institute of Forestry, Agricultural and Livestock Research (Inifap) is anticipated in the availability of vegetative material of cocoa and oil palm improved and resistant to pests, as well as in the development of capacities and extensionism, in addition to the support of the Service National Health, Safety and Agri-Food Quality (Senasica) in health actions and certification of productive units.
